MFS (Managing For Success) Personal Behaviour Profiling

What is it?
Personal Behaviour Profiling is a sophisticated and trusted piece of computer software that asks the participant to respond to a series of questions, and from the answers given, builds a report that highlights themes and motivations in that individual's workplace behaviour.

How Does it Work?
Reports are generated from responses to various questionnaires and quantify information on how we perceive ourselves and how others may perceive us. Respondents have the opportunity to immediately increase their knowledge of themselves and how they interact with others, resulting in increased effectiveness.

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

What it is.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a self report questionnaire which provides a useful method for understanding people by looking at eight personality preferences that everyone uses at different times.

These eight preferences are organised into four opposite pairs. When you complete the questionnaire, the four preferences (one from each pair you identify as being most like you) are combined into what is called a ‘type’.
 

The four pairs of preferences:
Energising – how a person is energised, either through Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I)
Perceiving – what a person pays attention to, either through Sensing (S) or Intuition (N)
Deciding – how a person decides, either through Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
Living – the lifestyle a person adopts, either through judging (J) or Perceiving (P)

How it Works
The report which is fed back to the individual, details their characteristics including their strengths in certain situations, their value to an organisation, how they might be perceived by other people and areas which need to be developed.

 

Why we use it
Once people understand their ‘type’ and where they fit in a framework that describes personality differences in a positive and constructive way, they are able to appreciate important differences between people and understand how different ‘types’ can work together in a complementary way.
