CCTV (PSS) Level 2

The achievement of City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for CCTV Operators will provide assurance that a CCTV professional has the essential knowledge required to do their job effectively. This award is approved by the SIA and will help prospective operators to obtain their Licence to Practise within the Public Space Surveillance industry.

Unit 01 - Roles & Responsibilities of the CCTV Operator

• Outcome 01 - To identify the roles and responsibilities of the CCTV Team
• Outcome 02 - Demonstrate an understanding of codes of practise, operational procedures and guidelines in CCTV
• Outcome 03 - Demonstrate an understanding of the operation of CCTV equipment
• Outcome 04 - Demonstrate an understanding of how other non-CCTV equipment operates within a CCTV control room
• Outcome 05 - Explain the different types of legislation that impact on CCTV operations
• Outcome 06 - Define different types of incidents and state how to deal with them
• Outcome 07 - Demonstrate an understanding of health and safety in the workplace
• Outcome 08 - Demonstrate an understanding of fire and emergency procedures, both during and outside normal working hours
