Accredited Persons Level 2 (CSAS / RSAS)

Community/Railway Safety Accreditation Schemes (CSAS/RSAS) were introduced by the police Reform Act 2002, which enabled Chief Constables to accredit employees of organisations who contribute towards community safety. People who are accredited under such a scheme are called Accredited Persons (AP’s) and can be identified by a nationally standardised badge which must be worn at all times.

It is suitable for those who work or want to work in some of the following roles: rail enforcement officers, travel safe officers, railway community officers, community wardens; neighbourhood wardens; community support workers; parking attendants; park rangers etc.

Over the past few years, Jigsaw Training has been proud to be involved in the development of the program, along with the Association of Chief Police Officers, (ACPO), Security Industry Authority, (SIA) Skills for Justice, Skills for Security, Centrex and the Department for Communities and Local Government.

What is CSAS/RSAS Training?

It is a totally up to the minute five day Vocational Qualification level 2 course, available to organisations and their employees that are involved with community and railway safety, to be accredited by the police.

The accredited persons are becoming part of the ever growing policing family. With the aim of making our communities a safer place to be.

Part one of the course also covers the criteria set out by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to achieve individuals licensing requirements in relation to private.

In order to achieve the full qualification, learners must complete the following four core units:

  • Roles and responsibilities of accredited persons
