1) Effective leaders need to have vision for the future and have the ability to communicate that vision to their team.
2) Effective leaders act as role models because they know that their team are more influenced by what they ‘see’ rather than by what they are ‘told’.
3) Effective leaders ‘walk the talk’; i.e. they do what they say they are going to do when they say they will do it.
4) If the leader is convincing and believes in him or herself, others will want to be part of the operation and work towards the common goal themselves.
